[ Sweat and Soot ]
[
• about •]
Sweat and Soot is a conjunction of movement, sound,
light,
dance and music, yet it has but one genre: the dance.
The structure of the performance enables the substances
of
movement and free invention to create innumerable imaginary
spaces filled by the imagination of spectators.
The graceful moves of ballet are juxtaposed with raw,
industrial music to achieve a comic but also strangely tribal effect.
The trance-inducing noise blasts your senses alongside apoplectic
seizures that stick in a loop, finally sucking you back into
reality with a sharp slap.
Sweat and Soot blurs your sensory perception and
leaves you in a completely different place.
